Spring is here and our Head Chef, Tomoko Tahara, has been busy putting the final touches on Harken's plant-based food menu in anticipation of opening our doors in the coming weeks. We're excited to soon be able to offer our meticulously selected beans, as well as our thoughtfully crafted food offerings. With a focus on Japanese-inspired dishes, Tomoko has been leaning in to her recent experience interning at Michelin-Star restaurant, Inua, in Tokyo:
“It inspired me on so many levels; I'm excited to begin sharing my ideas. My menu at Harken will be very minimal, but made thoughtfully."
To give you a special sneak preview, we've teamed up with our friends at Virtuous Pie's downtown Vancouver location to offer Harken's sushi menu up to and including Sunday, May 10th. Please note, due to a scheduled BC Hydro power outage we will not be able to offer sushi on Friday, May 8th.
Available exclusively on DoorDash for pick up and delivery, we're offering four delicious servings of plant-based sushi:
Carrot Lox Nigiri | Carrot lox, tofu, yuzukosho, salted plum sauce, green onion, puffed rice topping (5 pieces)
Spicy Tuna Roll | California koshihikari rice, tomato, tempeh bacon bits, house-made sriracha, black beans, pickled daikon, house-made vegan mayo, nori wrap (8 pieces)
Inari Roll | California koshihikari rice, seasonal veggies, seeds, salted plum sauce, japanese seasoning, stewed bean curd wrap (3 pieces)
Avocado Roll | California koshihikari rice, avocado, yuzu citrus, jalapeno, greens, house-made vegan mayo, sesame seeds, soy wrap (8 pieces)
The sushi menu is available from 4pm - 8pm, weekdays and 12pm - 8pm on weekends. Subject to sell out, but our kitchen team is working hard to keep up with demand! You can order on DoorDash here.
